The future of Lafayette's progress falls once again on the shoulders of its citizens as the Lafayette Comprehensive Plan Forum returns with its third round of public community forums.
Citizens of Lafayette are once again being called upon for their input as to what the future of the city should look like. The Lafayette Comprehensive Plan, a developing, long-range plan for the city's future, will be discussed by the community at large during two open forums being held this week.
During the forums, participants will be asked what they consider the best scenario should be for the foundation of the Comprehensive Plan, including multi-center growth that involves guiding projected growth toward "complete neighborhoods;" balanced growth that responds to the imbalance of development in the southern sector of Lafayette Parish; corridor growth that concentrates growth along existing targeted transportation corridors around Lafayette Parish; or no plan, which depicts a vision for how Lafayette will continue to develop with no plan, following the current development trends.
Lafayette Comprehensive Plan Forum Series Three takes place Tuesday, May 14, from 4-8 p.m., at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center located at 101 Jefferson St., in downtown Lafayette and on Wednesday, May 15, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Heymann Performing Arts Center, located at 1373 S.
