Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer has ended his long-shot bid for the White House, announcing Friday he'll forgo seeking the nomination of any other third parties.

Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer has ended his long-shot bid for the White House, announcing Friday he'll forgo seeking the nomination of any other third parties. The Republican, who was shut out of the GOP nominating process last year and into 2012, was all but a goner two weeks ago when the centrist, online political "party" Americans Elect announced it wouldn't field a candidate. Roemer had been seeking the top spot on the group's ticket, but an evident lack of enthusiasm by the World Wide Web nixed the alternative to the two major parties.
