by Dominick Cross

Set for Parc International from 6-9 pm. in the comfort of air conditioned tents, Gulf Brew features more than 100 fine craft and specialty brews, on-site brewing demonstrations, gaming area, live music and food.

Home brewers and local breweries come together for a major fundraiser for the Acadiana Center for the Arts that also doubles as the region's premier  beer festival when the sixth annual Gulf Brew Festival & Fundraiser gets under way July 21 in Lafayette.

Set for Parc International from 6-9 pm. in the comfort of air conditioned tents, Gulf Brew features more than 100 fine craft and specialty brews, on-site brewing demonstrations, gaming area, live music and food.

Kate Waxley, marketing director for the AcA, says attendance "helps to support AcA's expansive programming efforts including theater, dance, music, opera, and cinema presentations, along with outstanding visual arts, community and education initiatives."

Waxley says that La 31 "was a home brew club when they came on board with us the first year and their business took off from there."

Tickets are $25 and available at AcadianaCenterfortheArts.org or by calling (337) 233-7060. VIP tickets are available for $75 and designated driver (non-taster) tickets are available for $15.

A Party Time Limo Bus and 6 Gulf Brew is available for the winner of a raffle set for the July 14 Artwalk. The Limo Bus will pick you and your friends up before Gulf Brew and drop you back off safely at the end of the night.

Raffle tickets, sold separately at $20, are available at the Aca box office, by calling 337.233.7060 or online here.

All proceeds will benefit the Acadiana Center for the Arts and no one under the age of 21 will be allowed to enter the festival premises.
