Rep. Jim Morris, a Republican from Oil City in northwest Louisiana, evidently didn't get the memo: fail to toe the line and you walk the plank. The (Some)Times-Picayune is reporting that Morris was notified by Speaker Jim Kleckely that he was being stripped of his vice chairmanship on the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee. Kleckely told Morris the ouster stemmed from the latter's lack of interest in the post, which Morris refutes.

(Not) coincidentally, Morris was among a group of House "fiscal hawks" who opposed Jindal's budget, which relied on one-time funding for recurring expenses and other balance-sheet gimmicks. Morris also voted against Bobby Voucher's education reform package.
