Flight attendants and pilots greeted guests at the EatLafayette Kickoff party at Acadiana Center for the Arts. Sponsored by the New Fly Lafayette Club and new sponsor Robert Mondavi Winery, this year's EatLafayette event featured 40 local restaurants that showed off their delectable cuisine, including smoked seafood crepes from iMonelli, mojitos from Café Habana City, poboys from Old Tyme Grocery, grillades and grits from French Press, lobster BLTs from Café Vermilionville, duck and andouille sausage gumbo from Charley G's - so much food, so little time. More than 60 restaurants are participating in this year's eighth annual campaign, which is designed to encourage dining locally. So take a break from cooking and try their incredible, mouth-watering specials, running through Aug. 15.
