Lafayette-based Double R Restaurant Group plans to open 10 Another Broken Egg Cafés in Atlanta in the next five years.

Lafayette-based Double R Restaurant Group, headed by Rodney Savoy and Robert Gagnard, plans to open 10 Another Broken Egg Cafés in Atlanta in the next five years.

Double R Restaurant Group is also expanding in the North Carolina market, opening two locations, including this one in the Raleigh area, in recent months.

Now Another Broken Egg Café's largest franchisee, Double R has a store in Baton Rouge and is planning a second location there (it does not own the River Ranch location). Additionally, the company has been expanding in the North Carolina area, where it currently has single stores in Durham and Raleigh, Savoy says. It also has secured the rights to develop the Charleston, S.C., and Savannah, Ga., markets.

The Lafayette businessman and his San Diego-based business partner are the financial backers behind River Ranch and Sugar Mill Pond. They also own Romacelli. Read more about that expansion here.

The first restaurant in the new 10-store deal, expected to open in October in Alpharetta, will be the second Another Broken Egg Café in the greater Atlanta area, reports the website franchising.com in a July 24 story. The third location should open in November, the site reports. Double R does not own the existing Atlanta store.

Franchising.com notes that the Destin, Fla.-based concept "shines in the crowded restaurant sector thanks to an extensive breakfast menu that includes the likes of Huevos Rancheros, Banana's Foster and eight Signature' Benedicts, as well as popular lunch offerings ranging from gourmet burgers to Smoked Salmon BLT Wraps."

While more quick service breakfast options continue to dominate the marketplace, Another Broken Egg Café offers consumers a much-welcomed, upscale approach to breakfast, brunch and lunch. Each Another Broken Egg Café restaurant is driven with a careful attention to detail - everything from their hand-made stoneware coffee mugs to its warm color schemes and original artwork. That philosophy of "nothing short of right is right" has paid off in a big way for the emerging franchise. The brand has earned a myriad of awards ranging from NW Florida's Emerald Coast Magazine's "Best Breakfast" for eleven consecutive years to Lafayette's "Architectural Interior Design Award" to "Best Bloody Mary" in Sandestin.

Development of the Atlanta market is part of the Florida-based company's strategy to double its 22-unit franchise in the next two years. Savoy says Double R's plan is to have about 25 Another Broken Egg restaurants in its portfolio in the next five years.
