Dish of the Day: Pont Breaux's Zydeco Salad

Packed with protein and veggies, this salad is a main course. Salads are often a precursor to the main course, but this one is an entrée of sausage, duck, shrimp and fish.

Pont Breaux's Zydeco Salad is packed with protein and vegetables, making it a satisfying choice for either lunch or dinner. The salad consists of mixed baby greens tossed with bell peppers, tomatoes and boiled eggs, and topped with Louisiana andouille sausage, baked duck, boiled shrimp and blackened catfish. The dish is finished with a garnish of fresh Zydeco green beans.

Pont Breaux's Cajun Restaurant offers a variety of Cajun dishes, from gumbo and fried seafood to crawfish étouffée and grilled frog legs. Also, Pont Breaux's is famous for its live Cajun music, played nightly. The restaurant is located on 325 Mills Ave. in Breaux Bridge, and is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
