Singer-songwriter Drew Landry has taken a look at the recent controversy over the St. Martin Parish School Board's aborted deal to sell a tract in the Atchafalaya Basin to a logging company.

Titled Preserving a Way of Life in the Atchafalaya Basin, the 15-minute documentary chronicles the successful effort by local residents, politicians and environmental activists to resolve the situation before the roughly square mile of cypress and tupelo trees were clear cut. Resolution came in mid July when the school board worked out an arrangement with the state Department of Natural Resources to preserve the 640 acres.
