First, it was a low-cal margarita marketed to women. Three years later, it's a full-blown Skinnygirl lifestyle encouraging healthy habits for ladies.
The Skinnygirl 100-calorie margarita, made with all-natural flavors by reality TV star turned health mogul Bethenny Frankel, was launched in 2009, but its real takeoff (and the point when it began reaching the shelves of local liquor and grocery stores) came in late spring of last year when the line was picked up by Beam Inc.
In addition to Skinnygirl's new low-cal liquors, pre-made cocktails and wines, all of which can be found at Rouses, the Skinnygirl brand also incorporates exercise tips, strategies for organizing your life and healthy meal recipes through its website and various forms of social media.
