Saint Street Inn to host first Hot Dogit Cookoff

by Elizabeth Rose

The first-ever Saint Street Inn Hot Dogit Cook-off is a definite departure from a standard backyard barbecue.

As a send-off for summer, the Saint Street Inn is hosting a hot dog cook-off a week from today, but not with standard your Oscar Meyer wieners.

Instead, three local cooks will set up their own hog dog stands on the Inn's porch and compete for the title of best (homemade) hot dog. Those competing are Greg Walls of Johnson's Boucaniere, Russell Hiltz of The Grateful Dawg hot dog cart and Saint Street Inn's own Kelsey Leger, who will be creating a vegetarian hot dog - but all are welcome to try it.

Whole Damn Town will play on the alley stage that night, and the crowd will determine whose hot dog sets itself apart. Just show up Thursday, Sept. 20, between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. at the Inn, located at 407 Brook Ave.
