Shoe Fits changes hands

by Amanda Bedgood

Local attorney purchases Kaliste Saloom shoe store

Elizabeth Haik Johnson had on some fabulous sparkling Jessica Simpson shoes Wednesday night at the Junior League's Tinsel and Treasures Preview Party.

"From my new store," she told us.

Come again? Elizabeth, who has long practiced law, is now at the helm of the Kaliste Saloom shoe heaven after purchasing the franchise from the Houma-based shoe store.

"Practicing law is so hard for a family," she says.

And with two girls at home and baby number three on the way, Elizabeth felt Shoe Fits would be just the fit.

"The old owner is there to help and teach me," she says.

And come October, she'll head to market for the first time where she plans on bringing back the best in footwear for the ladies of Lafayette. We're hoping she snags some more shoes of the sparkling Jessica Simpson variety.
