Bobby Holbrook of Holbrook Multi Media garnered the attention of both Sony Europe and Sony USA, as well as some major players in Hollywood, with his "F65 Project," a website that breaks down the full usage and benefits of the Sony F65, a high-end digital motion picture camera. Both Sony entities sent out tweets and Facebook postings about Holbrook's interactive site, which has a forum, Twitter, blog and Vimeo channel built in to help any user navigate the F65. Holbrook was also contacted by Sony Europe's vice president of marketing to work on additional projects with the company but told ABiz he is not at liberty to divulge any specifics at this time. A second generation director, producer and cinematographer, Holbrook is production manager of Holbrook Multi Media and has expanded his professional knowledge and experience to assist even an amateur user of the camera. "When working on my films in post production, I was blown away with the amount of latitude and ability I had to push the raw footage I shot with the Sony F65 camera," Holbrook says. "After reading many of the concerns with workflow of the F65, my approach with the F65 Project is to relieve all of those tensions by showing the user how to handle all post data management and workflow on a standard Mac Pro. In addition, I wanted to show others that the workflow can be fast, so I participated in the 48 Hour Film Project in New Orleans (described as a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie - write, shoot, edit and score it - in just 48 hours') and used the Sony F65. My project teaches the user how to do all of this at home." - ABiz Staff
