Offshore workers and welders needed for growing company

Linear Controls out of Lafayette is holding a job fair Tuesday.

Positive growth has prompted the need for a workforce expansion at Lafayette's Linear Controls Inc., which will hold a job fair Tuesday, according to a press release issued by the company.

Louisiana Workforce Commission's Lafayette Business and Career Solutions Center is coordinating Tuesday's job fair, which will be focused on offshore workers and welders with at least one year of experience. The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Linear Controls, located at 107 1/2 Commission Blvd.

Open positions include offshore electricians, offshore automation technicians, offshore pneumatic technicians, offshore PLC programmers, offshore instrument fitters and specialists, offshore power generation technicians and offshore I&E technicians.

"These positions will perform a variety of tasks to assist in production activities in an offshore environment," the press release states.

Linear Controls also will be accepting applications for welders to work in the company's climate controlled manufacturing show.

Applicants are asked to bring an updated resume and to be prepared to interview. Those unable to attend Tuesday's job fair can still be considered by emailing their resume to recruiter@linearcontrols.
