Donna Reed-inspired dresses ruled Romney and Obama ladies
Stylists for Michelle Obama and Ann Romney must be in cahoots or perhaps they both knew the final presidential debate called for sartorial choices that screamed "I'm an absolute lady fit for the White House a la Donna Reed."
Michelle wore a Thom Browne lace-topped dress with a black-belted nipped in waist. A shape that would be a flattering choice for most women. And in a surprising twist, a piece she wore just a month ago during the DNC. A choice some say is a deliberate message "I'm an everyday woman who wears the same dress twice." (But, everyday women don't wear custom-made Thom Browne so we're not really buying that was her intent.)
Ann chose an Oscar de la Renta ensemble with a large statement necklace. The on trend hue and floral print kept it fresh. And like Michelle, it's a shape that works for most body types.
While we refuse to cast our ballots for best dressed on this one, we are confident whoever finds themselves at the inaugural ball will bring an intriguing sartorial choice.
