Shoe Fits Grand (Re)Opening

by Amanda Bedgood

New owner takes the helm of local shoe store

Elizabeth Haik Johnson put her best foot (and shoe) forward recently during the grand (re)opening of Shoe Fits. The lovely Lafayette lady (who happens to be an attorney) purchased the store from Jodi Webb (who also has a store in Houma and others cropping up around the country).

Johnson and Webb will work together to continue to bring customers the best in footwear heading to market together and working hand in hand in many instances. It's this close working relationship that Webb says she was on the look out for when she decided to franchise the shoe store on Kaliste Saloom.

"We had dinner and I just knew," Webb says during the grand re-opening.

For Johnson, the move from law to footwear comes as she prepares for baby number three. And she was certainly rocking her baby bump at the shindig wearing a magenta maxi, brand spanking new Vince Camuto boots with a dash of sparkle (that you can find at Shoe Fits) and an edgy leather vest.

Our favorite picks of the newest shoes? Grey boots. We are loving the biker boots from Vince Camuto and really digging pretty much every pair of shoes from a new brand we eyed at the store  Antelope.

"Leather from Israel," Johnson tells us.

All we know is they are so very supple we can't help but think of butter. The grey ones in particular are a fav with that lace up detail on the shaft. Perfect for the 4,863 pairs of black leggings in this IND styler's closet.
