For Forest Wright, being the lone Democrat in a race filled with Republicans did have its perks, like more votes; just not enough to win.
As expected, no runoff will be needed for Scott Angelle to take his district 2 seat on the Public Service Commission.
But among Angelle's four challengers, Democrat Forest Wright didn't do all too bad.

While the former DNR secretary convincingly swept Tuesday's election, getting 57.23 percent, or 213,322 total votes, Wright pulled the next most votes with 76,281. But unlike Angelle, Wright's showing Tuesday definitely isn't the result of a hefty campaign war fund.
Wright's semi-success should probably be chalked up to his being the lone Democrat in the race, because according to a pre-election day report by the Advocate, his campaign funds, even when combined with the totals reported by candidates Sarah Holliday and Greg Gaubert, equaled no more than $37,000. Meager when compared to the $517,110 Angelle reported in early October.
