Mignon Faget brings sweet design to Lafayette

Mignon Faget is kind of impressive. Both the brand and the woman. Last night the fifth Mignon Faget store and first in Lafayette welcomed folks to Mignon's unique brand of design. With a nod to her New Orleans roots, love of nature and diverse designs that swing the pendulum from demure to edgy, there were several shiny things that caught this IND Styler's eye.

In the what I would wear category, The Hive collection was just too sweet (pun intended) for words. Mignon herself wore several pieces from the honeycomb-decked collection including an amazing (amazing) cuff and a cool necklace. In fact, Mignon was chic head to toe in a black jacket over a fluttering Asian motif silky top. She also wore one of the latest pieces from the Mignon Faget family a lovely leather pouch perfectly suited for an iPhone. And trimmed in Mignon's signature cadet blue, notes marketing and PR manager Coeli Hilferty who was kind enough to show IND Style the best picks for the season. Chief among them some new bangles designed by Mignon's son (John Humphries) that are perfect for gifts (and with some under $100 priced just right).

While there's certainly the signature New Orleans influence in much of the work, a most definite Acadiana flavor has joined the fold. Our pick? Those sweet little pirogue earrings. There's also the blackened redfish charms and the Lafayette tumblers that pay homage to the people of Acadiana. And most notably a charm bracelet that includes the pirogue along with an Acadian cottage and hot pepper charms. Next time you're in Park Lafayette pass by, cher. And stay tuned to IND Style for the inside scoop about which Mignon Faget pieces NYC tastemakers are coveting.
