Fashion Week New Orleans searches for models in Lafayette

The folks over at Fashion Week New Orleans are on the hunt for a bevy of models across the Gulf Coast for the third annual Fashion Week slated for March 20 - 24. While the fashion week is in the Crescent City, organizers are searching far and wide for the fiercest of them all to walk the runway.

Four casting calls are on the books starting with one in Lafayette Friday, Jan. 4. (The others are in Gulf Port, New Orleans and Baton Rouge.) Models selected will also compete in a Model Walk Off with the chance to win a scouting trip to L.A. compliments of John Robert Powers.

According to organizers, FWNOLA models have hit it big including Taylor Hamric, who is in NYC signed with Wilhelmina and Victoria Henley who made it to the top five in America's Next Top Model. While models are setting their sites on far flung places, the organizers for FWNOLA aim to showcase the local talents of the Gulf Coast.

"Inspired by Fashion Week New York and Louisiana's richly diverse culture, Fashion Week New Orleans' goal is to showcase the talents and collections of established and emerging fashion designers, brand houses, boutiques and retailers in a series of runway shows, fashion events and exhibitions," according to organizers.

The Lafayette casting call is slated for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 4 at Hemline in River Ranch.
