This week in pickled: better embalmers in 2013!

Act 176 establishes a continuing education system for embalmers and funeral directors and goes into effect Jan. 1. Thank God Almighty, the likelihood of being properly embalmed in Louisiana skyrockets beginning Jan. 1, 2013 as Act 176, signed by Gov. Bobby Jindal last May, finally goes into effect. The act, previously known as House Bill 161 by state Rep. Harold Ritchie, D-Bogalusa, establishes a continuing education system for embalmers and funeral directors.
