The latest in fitness sends users across the globe without ever leaving their living room.

They say there is nothing new under the sun. In the world of fitness we don't want to believe that's the case. Experts like Ken Seibold, who has been a manager at Bell's Equipment, says while there are certainly new things in the world of workout gear, it is the tried and true methods that are tried and true for a reason. But the way those methods are delivered is where the real innovation lies.

While treadmills continue to be at the top for cardio (with ellipticals growing the fastest), revolutionary ways of hitting the fake pavement are giving users an entirely new experience. The latest of these is the Passport.

"You can run the streets of Venice," Seibold says.

Passport connects the treadmill wirelessly to your television and gives runners a sort of virtual experience of running through the streets of Northern Italy or the American Southwest. A USB stick lets you watch your stats on the TV screen while the program gives you the feel of the terrain changes as you go up hills or down stairs.

So while you might begin your workout in your living room, you can finish it in the Italian countryside. "It's really like nothing else," Seibold says.
