Native goes mellow

by Amanda Bedgood

The bold attitude of native prints arrives for spring

This spring (per our predictions) looks to be all about prints. Before you solid obsessors quit reading, we have some ways for you to do the print thing in a fresh new way. One of my favorites - the tribal vibe.

In the winter, it was all about tons of bold color for the native pieces. As we look forward to spring, the hues have gone the way of mellow. Like this sherbet top from Vanessa V. or the soft scarves from Jewelie's.

Those scarves are a great way for the print shy to incorporate something with a print without committing. Perfect with a white top and jeans or paired with a contrasting color. Add a couple of silver necklaces and some dangling tribal earrings and you've nailed the look without abandoning your more traditional roots.

We're also loving the tribal top and midi (you read that right, midi) skirt from Knotting Hill. Both are great transitional pieces that can work now and later.

In fact, the midi is forecasted to be the new length in skirts as temps warm. So get those ankles ready, ladies.
