Grant Street hosts mini music fest

by Wynce Nolley

On Saturday, Grant Street Dancehall will hold ZigFest 2013 featuring performances from some of Lafayette's rising independent bands including Elephunk, Oceans & Chimneys and Circus Genetic.

Starting Saturday at noon, Grant Street Dancehall will be hosting ZigFest, a first run quasi-music festival featuring performances from five bands, graffiti walls and blank canvasses for live art and a giant steaming pot of gumbo to satiate those compelled to attend.

Here's the lineup, according the ZigFest 2013 Facebook page:

1:00 p.m.      That Bastard Pulse

2:30 p.m.      Elephunk

4:00 p.m.      Oceans and Chimneys

5:00 p.m.      Circus Genetic

6:30 p.m.      Granola Feet

8:15 p.m.      Zig The Ripper

And later that night, Louisiana's veteran alt rockers Bas Clas perform at Grant Street Dancehall as part of the Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival.

ZigFest starts at noon on Saturday, Jan. 26, while Bas Clas takes the stage later that night at 10 p.m. with admission at $10. For more details, visit the show's event page here.
