NORAD jets practice for Super Bowl security

NORAD said Monday the fighters plan a one-hour drill over New Orleans on Tuesday.

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) - North American Aerospace Defense Command fighter jets are preparing their security precautions for the Super Bowl.

NORAD said Monday the fighters plan a one-hour drill over New Orleans on Tuesday.

If the weather is bad, the exercise will take place Wednesday.

NORAD, based at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., is a joint U.S.-Canada command responsible for defending the skies over both countries as well as monitoring approaches by sea.
