Ladies in red

by Amanda Bedgood

Luncheon with heart (and style)

Each year the Go Red luncheon grows. The American Heart Association's signature event is filled with fabulous ladies decked in red. Red maxis and shifts and flirty skirts. There are hats on occasion and bold red statement necklaces. And each year there are more of these ladies filling the ballroom of the Hilton. This year was no different.

They broke the records again this year with more than 500 gals enjoying inspiring words with speakers like the local coach's wife everyone loves - Tyla Hudspeth - and the daughter of iconic comedy royalty everyone loves - Lucie Arnaz (yes, that daughter of Lucy and Desi). And quite a few fabulous outfits we were loving at IND Style.

Fashionista Sharon Moss went red in a dress with lace details. We're seeing lace continuing into the spring as a must have. And we're loving the neckline on her dress - a red carpet trend that is as flattering as it is subtly sexy.

Tyla looked great in a simple red dress with a design that whittles the middle. And while she certainly needs no help in that department, the dress is one that would certainly work if someone did need a more defined waist.

Vanessa Vicari, owner of Vanessa V., brought out a posse of gals all wearing her signature wares. There was Roxanne Graham in a too-cute one-shoulder that's a great day to night dress. And several maxi dresses that are just the ticket for this bipolar weather. Miss V. went with a black dress and bold red necklace. A dress that also works day to night with the change of accessories. Also a great palette for super funky statement necklaces. Our favorite among them all? Crystall Coroy. She wore a sleeveless dress with geometric print and in a surprising twist paired it with a funky mint necklace. It really is all about the mint.

Pairing pastels with bold is just what we're loving for spring. The more unexpected the better. We just love to be surprised.
