Fred Reggie, president of Fred Reggie Associates and The Trial Coach, has been invited by Loyola University New Orleans College of Law to address third year law students on Feb. 28. Reggie's talk will focus on the application of storyboarding techniques to bolster and enhance opening statements at trial.
Reggie is a business coach and a professional speaker whose work includes coaching trial lawyers on the development and refinement of courtroom presentation skills.
"Storyboarding is critical to trial preparation as it allows the litigator to construct a substantive narrative by organizing a chronological outline of the facts surrounding the case," says Reggie. "As in movie production, a storyboard is used to brainstorm all the ideas before taking action by creating a process of visual thinking and planning - it helps crystalize the message that will be delivered to jurors."
Reggie, a professional speaker and presenter, has addressed hundreds of audiences nationwide over the past 30 years. He has worked with executives, community leaders and legal professionals on developing the art of presentation. The storyboarding lecture is designed to increase courtroom proficiency among third-year law students and better prepare them for the mechanics of trial. It is presented as part of the College of Law Skills and Experiential Learning Program led by Loyola Professor Christine Cerniglia Brown.
