NEW ORLEANS (AP) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan and chef Paul Prudhomme are visiting a farm in New Orleans.

Merrigan will release a report Tuesday about how food hubs can bring local and regional food products to buyers - from home cooks to stores and institutions such as schools.

Hollygrove Market and Farm sells produce raised as far west as Kinder and as far northeast as Pontotoc, Miss.

Merrigan and Prudhomme also plan a cooking demonstration and local produce tasting

Several of Hollygrove's producers are in the city, from the Latino Farmers Cooperative's free range eggs and chickens to mustard greens from the Magellan Street Community Garden in Algiers.

Hollygrove holds farmer's markets on weekends and three weekdays.
