Forget your nautical pinafore, these mates are just the perfect blend of edge and prep.

Growing up I don't think there was a year without at least one nautical ensemble. Giant crisp white collars on navy prints with just a hint of red. They were adorable to be sure. And so perhaps it is a kind of style Stokholm syndrome that gives me such affection for the anchors and broad white stripes of a nautical piece.

If you're ready to hit the open sea, we spotted two tanks perfect whether you're wanting to get all prep-school row team or a little bit funky. Over at Vanessa V. we're loving this gleaming gold anchor - great paired with that red bag. At 7 Chics a funkier tank with an anchor and stripes is the perfect topper for cut offs.

We're loving these navy shoes from Jewelie's. They are just the duo for boyfriend jeans. We'd love it with a simple button down - collarpopped and sleeves rolled - distressed boyfriend jeans cuffed and a simple gold necklace.

New comer Loft 115 has a bracelet with pieces that remind of the sea. Just the sort of piece that will be perfect with spring's must have mint.
