The IND's early look at must-have pieces you'll wear right now (and for months to come)

There are as many trends as there are opinions about this time of year. As we hop from chilly mornings to warming afternoons and hear that what's so "now" often contradicts the last thing we heard was truly so "now," we'll break down a few no brainer picks. Picks that are trending now and still wearable far later.

Handbags are one of the easiest ways to take an ensemble to a trendy place. And yet they can be that staple piece in your wardrobe that lasts for seasons or years even. We found just such an investment piece over at kiki of the Chloe variety. (Sigh. O, how this IND Styler covets all things Chloe.) This reptilian treat is totally on trend with its homage to the beloved snake we've seen slithering about our fav boutiques. Like much we find at kiki, it is an investment piece that will stand the test of time. Pair with some of our other finds like the super street cut offs or wear with a demure little peplum just as easily.

Speaking of those cut offs. These J Brand shorts from Hemline are what everyone on earth will be wearing as temps warm. Rock now with sheer black hosiery and boots if you're feeling brave. Then come summer pair with metallic flats and tanks with arms cut so deeply they require a bandeau beneath.

One of the trends that seems to be here to stay for a bit is the hi-lo. The once edgy cut has gone mainstream and in this soft casual dress over at Vanessa V. proves that everyday can be both effortless and have just a little edge when paired with the right accessories.

Speaking of accessories, the color of the moment just may be silver in the way of metallics. While gold has been a standby for years now, silver is certainly making a comeback and doing so in two genres. The first is the boho variety - think layered silver necklaces with dangling medallions. And the latter, which we're seeing on this wedge from Brother's, is of the more sleek futuristic variety. And if you're feeling particularly eclectic, you can certainly pull off both together.

You know we'll be doing just that.
