Acadiana 365’s Pick of the Day: Seed to Skillet

Vermilionville is launching a new series called Seed to Skillet that focuses on how to cultivate, harvest and prepare your favorite homegrown foods.

Vermilionville is premiering a new quarterly series called Seed to Skillet where it will spotlight the full process of growing, harvesting and preparing your own food. The series is hosted by one of Vermilionville's seasoned artisans Greg Guidroz who will guide participants through the life cycle of the plant including how to go about planting it and how to nourish and collect crops once they are ready to be consumed. Guidroz will then prepare his own recipe to share with the audience using plants from each quarter's category. This quarter will feature leafy greens including cabbage, radishes, turnips, mustard greens and more.

The first Seed to Skillet will be held on Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Vermilionville. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and free for children ages 6 and under. To register for this event call 337-233-4077 or email [email protected].
