Ride for Rox
Bike Lafayette's second annual Ride for Rox cycling event will be taking place on Saturday, March 23, starting at 7 a.m. The ride is held every year in Grand Coteau to commemorate Roxanne Richard who was killed while riding her bicycle on the I-49 access road near Grand Coteau in October 2011. The ride will feature short 15-mile ride, a medium 30-mile ride and a long 60-mile ride, which all begin at Noble Plastics located at 318 Burleigh Lane in Grand Coteau. Piastres en Masse: Phillippe's Wine Cellar
FrancoJeunes, the group of Franco-responsible young professionals, is once again holding its monthly cash mob event Piastres en Masse this time at Phillippe's Wine Cellar located at 3809 Ambassador Caffery. As is the traditions, patrons are encouraged to visit Phillippe's from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and spend at least $10 while taking some time to converse with one another in French while sampling some of the store's various wines and spirits as well as its assortment of cheeses. Riot at the ARG Corral
Lafayette's most impetuous roller derby team the Acadiana Roller Girls will be kicking off their home season when they square off against Houma's Cajun Roller Girls at Top Shelf Sports, located at 1616 Youngsville Hwy in Youngsville. Tailgating starts at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door with children 12 and under receiving free admission.
