Saturday Story Time en Francais

Parlez-vous français? Join in as a family for a tale told in French that is sure to be c'est bon. This program is geared for children ages 3-6 who speak French, but anyone interested in exploring the language may attend. For additional information, visit the South Regional Library website.

Lafayette Middle School Environmental Sciences Academy Earth Day
1301 W. University Ave., Lafayette**
This event is designed for the community to explore what students in the Environmental Science Academy are learning. Activities will include tours of student work, nature crafts, games and science demos. There will also be music, food and even canoe rides. Free to the public. Hopefest, presented by St. Thomas More Catholic High School
Parc International, Downtown Lafayette**
Hopefest is a fundraiser lead by STM junior class students to benefit special needs teens through the STM Options program and also help fund the St. Bernadette Clinic, which provides nonemergent medical care to the nonworking poor. This family friendly event will include live music by Mackenzie Bourg, Jamie Bergeron and more. A kids area with fun jumps, face painting, basketball and ping-pong will be on hand, and don't forget about the food: boiled crawfish, jambalaya and fried fish. There will also be a silent auction throughout the event. Admission for adults, $5 and children, $3. Visit the Hopefest Facebook page for more.

Sugar Jam
Sugar Mill Pond Town Center, 120 Waterview Road, Youngsville**
The Mercy Brothers, a Louisiana-Hillbilly Gospel music group, perform as part of the Sugar Jam Concert Series. Bring the whole family for music, food and activities to this free event in beautiful Youngsville. Please leave ice chests at home and patron local restaurants for food and drink.
