Chill with Louisiana Red Friday at DTA

It was chilly during last weekend's Downtown Alive! concert, but this Friday expect a record-breaking freeze - the super-awesome line dance that is. If you've ever been to a shotgun-wedding reception or a country-and-western bar - or if you know someone who has - you know the routine: two steps to the left, turn to the right, shuffle over there, back up a few paces, rinse and repeat.

Popular variety band Louisiana Red will be the entertainment Friday, and when y'all hear those familiar notes for "The Freeze," assume the position and, by the grace of God and hell-bent for leather, the DTA! crowd will pull off the largest ever Freeze line dance at Downtown Alive! A radio station called Big 102.1 has a hand in this, too. Just sayin'.

As our friends at Downtown Lafayette Unlimited so aptly put it: "We know you know it, so come out and show it!"

DTA! is a free event. Concession sales, which begin at 5:30 p.m., help keep it that way, so please leave the ice chests at home. The music begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8:30.
