BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - While the Louisiana House debated next year's budget, Gov. Bobby Jindal headed to New Hampshire for a local Republican fundraiser.

The governor's office announced that Jindal, considered a potential 2016 White House contender, traveled to the important presidential primary state Friday to raise dollars for the New Hampshire Republican state Senate.

The trip came as the House in his home state worked on the nearly $25 billion budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1, heavily rewriting the version submitted by Jindal.

Jindal was scheduled to return to Baton Rouge on Saturday.
