Ethereal boho arrives for summer

The boho thing is alive and well. As summer begins to arrive (we know, we know it's not here yet, but tell that to these increasingly hot afternoons) the hippie chic thing seems to only grow and grow. Festival may be over, but the funky wares of such events have taken a serious spot on the national stage. While you can take your boho downtown or uptown, we're looking at a pared down version that's gauzy white and lace-trimmed after spotting the perfect balance in the Moschino Cheap and Chic Resort line.

Around Lafayette, the look is easy to nail. From the fabric sandals of Shoe La La to the funky flower-decked headpiece over at Herringstone's, the details of this look are just as light and airy as its foundations.

Brother's has a layered white dress that plays perfect backdrop to loads of necklaces (think turquoise and coral, mint and watermelon). Over at Herringstone's a pair of lacy shorts have that funky feel. Perfect paired with a lightweight top of mint and flat gold sandals.

At Vanessa V., a long white dress can top either a slip or a swimsuit for that killer combination of modern hippie and retro chic. Wear with a statement necklace and wedges to dress it up or long beads and flat sandals to keep it casual. So alluring is this new version of the hippie this devout wearer of black is considering some seriously white options this summer.
