Among the waves

Ocean hued pieces and beach-inspired prints welcome summer

Facebook is a cruel place when you're the one not basking on the beach. While Memorial Day has come and gone for many, there are a plethora of folks posting pics of their week at the beach. The aqua waves and calming shorelines are enough to make a girl green. But, green never was a good color on this gal, so instead we'll don the best pieces inspired by this IND Styler's favorite place.

Ombre isn't just for hair, clothing pieces that evolve from one shade to another are still en vogue and carry an instant kind of whimsy. We love this one from Brother's on the Boulevard that looks like a sample of Florida Keys color. Paired with white denim and some neutral wedges or a pair of roughed up jean shorts and flat gladiators and you're read to go.

Shoe La La has a pair of tribal-inspired sandals that are just beachy. Pair with a solid maxi or a wild aztec print for a summertime look that's hot.

At Vanessa V. a simple dress with a blue floral design reminds us of something we'd see in Hawaii with it's vibe that is aloha shirt meets chic white. Wear with simple gold flats and long dangling earrings for a casual date night.

At Hemline we're obsessing over this LA skyline dress. The simple slip shape is perfect for days strolling the beach that quickly turn into nights on the dance floor.
