The subject for the June edition of the Backyard Series is The Many Guitars of Cajun and Creole Music featuring guest guitarists Christine Balfa, Randy Vidrine and Lil' Buck Sinegal.

The Backyard Series topic for June is The Many Guitars of Cajun and Creole Music, which looks at the lives and careers of the many local Cajun and Zydeco guitarists who are overlooked in the context of the rest of the band. This presentation will look at how integral the guitar has become in both the Cajun and Zydeco musical genres as well as in local culture.

The presentation will also welcome local guitarists Christine Balfa, Randy Vidrine and Lil' Buck Sinegal along with other musicians in order to learn more about the role of the guitar and the varied techniques that create different sounds.

June's Backyard Series is free and open to all ages and begins on Tuesday, June 11, starting at 6:30 p.m., at Vermilionville, located at 300 Fisher Road. For more information visit Vermilionville.org or call (337) 482-1320.
