The 21-year-old son of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is facing charges of driving while intoxicated, hit-and-run driving and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The 21-year-old son of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is facing charges of driving while intoxicated, hit-and-run driving and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
In a news release, police said Connor Snellings was allegedly driving in the French Quarter early Thursday when the car he was in struck a pedestrian, who was not seriously injured.
Police said Snellings also was booked on charges of possession of an alcoholic beverage in the car and of not maintaining proper control of the vehicle.
He was released on $9,000 bail.
Snellings is the son of Landrieu and her husband, attorney Frank Snellings. Landrieu said in a news release that they love their son "wholeheartedly" but are disappointed in his actions. She said he'll face consequences at home and in the legal system.
