EatLafayette Dish of the Day: 1895's pork roast

by Kari Walker

Rice, gravy and veggies, too - this dish is a good reason to get out of the kitchen and let 1895 do the cooking.

1895 Cajun Cuisine & Pub is serving up a plate of pork roast that could even put Mama's recipe to shame. Slow roasted for over four hours, this plate lunch, our EatLafayette Dish of the Day that comes with rice and two sides is nothing short of good ole homestyle flavor. Both the pork and side of white rice come topped with brown gravy. Enjoy with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans as shown here, or go for the spinach au gratin and receive a free non-alcoholic beverage with your order of the pork roast this Tuesday.

The EatLafayette campaign, which runs through Sept. 2, aims to encourage dining at locally owned establishments. To have your dish featured in INDEats as the EatLafayette Dish of the Day or Dish of the Month in IND Monthly (you must be willing to share your recipe for the monthly feature), contact Kari Walker at [email protected] or Camille LeJeune at [email protected]; find participating restaurants and info on their specials here.
