Changes are brewing for the annual beer festival.
Acadiana Center for the Arts is moving this year's Gulf Brew to greener pastures. The annual beer festival that supports the arts has been held in Downtown Lafayette in years past, but the Horse Farm is where to find the fest come October - moving the date from the traditional summertime spot to fall brings hopes of cooler temps.
The festival will feature breweries from the Gulf Coast region for beer sampling as well as live music and food. Schilling Distributing and Crescent Crown will feature their brews along with most of the home brewers from last year, according to AcA development director, Katie Choate. "Now we can highlight fall fest beers from brewers [by moving to October]," Choate says on the shift of festival season.
