On Saturday, the LITE Center is hosting iFest, which is a free one-day event to celebrate and promote independent gaming in Louisiana. Speakers will be on-hand as well as local game studios showcasing games. The program includes talks and hands-on workshops running all day.

Presentations will be given from indie game developers including a speaker from Halfbrick, developers of Fruit Ninja, who will discuss how the game got started and the process of how it eventually ended up on Apple's App Store. Other indie developers will be on hand to discuss the creative process behind their games, which software works best, what platforms their games are built on and more.

iFest will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., at the LITE Center, located at 537 Cajundome Blvd. This all day event is free and open to the public. For more information on iFest, visit iFest.us.
