The AcA kicks off its next season of Residency @ the Center with a play from local playwright Jarin Schexnider.

The Acadiana Center for the Arts is starting its next season of Residency @ the Center with a theatrical play written and directed by local playwright Jarin Schexnider titled Stars, Like People. Schexnider's play is a theatrical installation featuring living sculptures set in certain galleries, back rooms and hidden corners of the AcA.

The production follows a single day in the life of seven characters who weave in and out of each others lives as they try to understand the purpose of the individual in a universe much larger than themselves.

Stras, Like People premiers on Tuesday, Aug. 6, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the AcA, located at 101 W. Vermilion St., in downtown Lafayette. The play runs from Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. with tickets at $12 and $10 for students. Tickets can be found at the AcA Box Office or by calling 337-233-7060.
