More Republicans in Louisiana blame President Obama for Uncle Sam's poor response to Katrina than they do President Bush. In August of 2005 - eight years ago - there was a storm what went up the Pearl River, devastating the Mississippi coast and eventually leading to a busted flood wall in New Orleans and a resulting flood that drowned about 1,000 people. For several miserable days desperate survivors clustered at the Louisiana Superdome and Convention Center awaiting buses out of the submerged city. The federal government's response to the calamity was widely panned. Damn it, Obama!
A new poll by Public Policy Polling, a Dem-leaning firm to be sure, finds that more Louisiana Republicans - 29 percent - believe President Obama shoulders the blame for federal missteps in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Twenty-eight percent assign the blame to President Bush, who was actually America's chief executive in 2005. Bush was vacationing at his Texas ranch when the storm hit. Obama was in his first and only term as the junior senator from Illinois. The majority of GOP respondents in the poll - 44 percent - don't know who to blame.

A slim majority - 51 percent - believes the gaypocolypse will happen in their lifetime.
Seventy-three percent believe that while corporations are people, they should not be granted interracial or same-sex marriage rights.
