Local family loses all in house fire here's how you can help. A house fire earlier this week left Ascension fifth grade science teacher Melissa Gentner and her family with few possessions and many memories lost. The family of four escaped the flames, but were not able to grab many essentials when fleeing.
To aid the family, an account has been established at Iberia Bank for donations - tax deductible contributions can be made at any bank branch under the Gentner Family Donation Fund. The family is also in need of personal items like clothing, shoes, and items for their two young children. Details on sizes can be found on the Ascension website.
The Genteners have already received kind gestures from community members, and while nothing can replace what has been lost, all of the support is welcomed with gratitude and thanks.
