Acadiana 365’s Pick of the Day: Les Vues Film Series

Vermilionville's free cultural cinema series returns for its August edition featuring the screening of "Trashed."

For the month of August, the Les Vues Film Series will be curated by Emile Ancelet, of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, who will be screening the documentary feature Trashed.

Produced and directed by British filmmaker Candida Brady, Trashed stars Jeremy Irons who travels around the globe on a mission to uncover the full extent and effects of the global waste problem. Throughout the film, Irons visits several pristine and exotic locations that have been tarnished by pollution in a journey to discover what compels humanity to blight its environment.

Les Vues Film Series presents Trashed on Monday, Aug. 26, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the Performance Center at Vermilionville, located at 300 Fisher Road. Admission to the film is free, though a suggested $5 donation will go towards screening and curating costs. For more information visit Vermilionville.com.
