The Sterling Automotive Broadway Series, the Acadiana Center for the Arts and the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana are gearing up for new seasons that feature musicians, musicals and dance performances that run the gamut from jazz and country to classical and pop.
PASA recently merged with the AcA, although the former maintains its mission through its Main Stage series at the Heymann Center to bring The Big to the stage. Performances for the three presenters will be held at both the AcA's Moncus Theater and the Heymann Center beginning Sept. 26 with an intimate concert by country crooner Clint Black at the AcA.
Here's what's going down through 2014:
AcA AllStar Series
AllStar Series tickets for all six performances range from $310-$460 or AcA members and $340-$485 for the general public. Individual tickets vary. Tickets can be obtained at the AcA box office by calling 233-7060 or online at AcadianaCenterForTheArts.org.
Thursday, Sept. 26
Clint Black
The country legend will host an intimate performance in the Moncus Theater with an acoustic trio. Guests are asked to attend in either country or black tie attire. Local country singer Jaryd Lane opens.
Saturday, Oct. 12
The Robert Cray Band
Cray has been one of the most consistently accomplished contemporary blues guitarists, having recently performed with Peter Frampton's Guitar Circus and at Eric Clapton's Crossroads festival. The five-time Grammy winner will celebrate the release of a new record with the AcA audience.
Saturday, Nov. 2
An Evening with Pikelny, Sutton, Bulla, Bales & Cobb
This concert is having the cake and eating it, too. The names may not exactly ring a bell, but the musicians, hailed as the premier acoustic instrumentalists and singers in contemporary bluegrass music, perform in some heavyweight outfits: Punch Brothers, Infamous Stringdusters, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Hot Rize and The Lyle Lovett Band.

James Brown: Get on the Good Foot, A Celebration of Dance**
In October 2013, a team of choreographers from around the world, 15 dancers, lighting and production designers and music professionals will arrive in Lafayette to launch James Brown: Get on the Good Foot, A Celebration in Dance. This evening-long dance performance will showcase the stylistic and cultural influence of James Brown, "Godfather of Soul." The Apollo Theater is partnering with Lafayette to launch the project, which will include workshops and other activities. A national tour is being planned following the premiere at the Apollo.

Sweet Plantain
Artfully fusing the western classical traditions in which they were trained and the hip-hop, jazz improv and Latin rhythms on which they were raised, their original writing and live shows educate and entertain. Separately hailing from the Bronx, New Jersey and Venezuela, together these musicians give voice to a sound that is contemporary, multicultural and very New York.

The Broadway Boys
The Broadway Boys is a collection of the hottest male voices currently working on the New York stage. Through their dynamic vocal prowess and redefining arrangements, the Boys add elements of pop, funk, gospel, jazz and fold to show tunes and classic pop songs.
