Bach Lunch goes ‘roots' for fall 2013

by Walter Pierce

The biannual Bach Lunch concert series will be bookended this fall by old and new Cajun bands, with a hearty helping of good, ole American music in between.

The biannual Bach Lunch concert series, which commences on Friday, Oct. 4 in Parc Sans Souci downtown, will be bookended this fall by old and new Cajun bands, with a hearty helping of American roots music in between. The series is a fundraiser for the Lafayette Science Museum Foundation and features one-hour performances by local bands along with the sale of boxed (get it? Bach?) lunches provided by area restaurants. Food is sold beginning at 11:15 a.m. on first-come, first-served basis, with proceeds helping the science museum. The music begins at noon.

The fall 2013 Bach Lunch lineup features, clockwise from upper left, Les Freres
Michot, The Mercy Brothers, Yvette Landry, Les Bassettes, Pine Leaf Trio (Pine
