Brogues and oxfords and menswear O, my
Menswear - one of my absolute favorite trends. In short it can be done no matter your age, style, size, budget. It's one of those trends that is on point but timeless - meaning you won't regret these pieces next season. I have menswear vests older than I care to admit. But, today we are looking at the trendiest of the menswear trend - the oxford.
If you're the fashion forward type with a penchant for comfy footwear, the standout brogue is just the ticket. Perfect with the season's much have tuxedo pants or even some slouchy boyfriend jeans, oxfords are everywhere. But, not all oxfords are brogues. Huh? If you really want a cute explanation check out this piece over at Lucky Magazine. But, for the rest of us it's pretty simple. Brogues have that decorative pattern along the toe and other edges. Men have been rocking the look for ages. It's our turn.
At Brother's they have a great pair that are a nearly maroon leather with a gray flannel - perfect for deep hued plaid or dark denim. Over at Maven Womenswear a black and white pair combine two trends and work beautifully with little retro inspired dresses. (Think red lips and WWII.) And over at Shoe La La a super funky brown oxford is the way to dress down the look and bring a vintage vibe to the trend.
