U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-New Orleans, is hauling in more than five times the cash of her presumptive 2014 GOP opponent, U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, in Lafayette Parish, according to Federal Elections Commission figures.

Second-quarter individual donations to the candidates - the most recent period released by the FEC - show Landrieu taking in $29,356 from individuals in the parish. Cassidy was donated $5,750.
The maximum individual donation set by the feds per election is $2,600, and only one Lafayette resident, attorney Clay Allen, even came close to hitting the mark on the Cassidy side, donating $2,500 to the BR physician/politician. Three individuals in Lafayette each gave $2,500 to Landrieu: business owner Reggie Dupre, attorney Mark Pharr and homemaker Fran Hampton, wife of auto dealer Mark Hampton. The biggest haul for Landrieu, however, came collectively from Elaine and Richard Zuschlag of Acadian Ambulance fame who donated $4,951 to the incumbent senator.
In the second quarter in Lafayette, only 10 people made individual contributions to Cassidy. By contrast, 21 Lafayette residents donated to Landrieu, several of them on multiple occasions with many of them donating more than $1,000. The most common donation to Cassidy was $250.
