Cane Fire Film Series presents ‘The Hunt’

For September, the Cane Fire Film Series screens "The Hunt," directed by Thomas Vinterberg and starring Mads Mikkelsen.

For the month of September, the Cane Fire Film Series is screening the internationally acclaimed, award winning drama The Hunt. The film is a disturbing depiction of how a single lie can grow into the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are admitted to bloom until they ignite a witch hunt that threatens to destroy an innocent man's life.

The Hunt is directed and co-written by Thomas Vinterberg and stars Mads Mikklesen who received the Best Actor Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival for his role as Lucas, a former school teacher who finds himself having to start over after rough divorce and losing his job. But just as Lucas is picking up the pieces, his life is fractured when a baseless rumor throws his tiny community into a state of collective hysteria, forcing him into a lonesome battle for his dignity and his life.

The Cane Fire Film Series screens The Hunt on Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the LITE Center, located at 537 Cajundome Blvd. Discounted tickets can be purchased through PayPal for $8 though account [email protected].
