The Lowe's home centers on Ambassador Caffery and Gloria Switch are seeking a combined reduction in assessed values from $35.1 million to $25.3 million - a reduction of nearly $10 million in assessed value. The largest adjustment the company is seeking is for the land it owns on Ambassador, valued in the most recent assessment at roughly $13.1 million; Lowe's argues the land should be valued at $7.2 million.
Also seeking reductions in assessed value are a motel on Kaliste Saloom Road, Schlumberger Technology on Rousseau Road and Pathfinder Energy Services for three locations in Lafayette Parish.
